Beginners might think that parachuting and skydiving are simply the act of leaping out of a plane, pulling the ripcord and letting the parachute lower the skydiver gently to earth.
This is true to some degree, however some instruction must be passed from expert to newcomer before-hand.
So, let’s start at the very beginning. How does one go about becoming a skydiver and jumping all by oneself?
It begins with the Learn to Skydive in BC Course.
So… what are you waiting for.
ACCELERATED FREEFALL PROGRAM
Accelerated Freefall (AFF) is a 9 level, 9 skydive program that culminates with you achieving all of the necessary requirements to acquire your Canadian Sport Parachute Association (CSPA) Solo license. This enables you to do solo skydives, without an instructor, anywhere in Canada and the United States.
The AFP, Solo Skydive License, is administered at our sister location in Innisfail Alberta at Alberta Central Skydive.
GROUND SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Ground School Program is designed to teach you, in baby steps, the fundamentals you need to prep for jump, exit the plane, remain aware of altitude, free fall in a stable position, do very basic maneuvers, deploy from a stable position at the right time, assess and react to an emergency, fly your canopy, and land safely. You learn these skills with an instructor (or two) beside you and coaching you every step of the way, in our Learn To Skydive In BC course.
Our Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Course, Cross skydiving off your bucket list. Start your adventure as a skydiver and feel the intense adrenaline of deploying your own parachute with this extensive course. We will train and assist you throughout the course to feel confident in your ability to skydive by yourself.
BEFORE YOU JUMP
Before you ever jump, you train. Ground School students first take a course, taught by a certified jump master, in which you spend approximately 6 hours learning all the fundamentals of the sport and equipment and emergencies. Take ground school seriously. It’s there for a reason.
Learn to Skydive in BC prepares you with the practical knowledge needed to make jumps. The ground school covers training, safety, free fall body position, emergency methods, and canopy (parachute) control. Following completion, you will be qualified to participate in Solo Skydive course.
Skydiving is a sport in which you pretty much can never learn enough. Almost everybody, from newbies to serious veterans with more than 10,000 jumps, all say the same thing: Learn something every time.

SKYDIVE EXTREME YETI
Skydive Extreme Yeti employs a rigorous maintenance program on all of our equipment. All parachutes are equipped with AAD (automatic activation devices) manufactured by Cypres and Vigil. At Skydive Yeti, we own and operate our own aircraft. We do not lease aircraft from other outfits who have only their bottom line in mind.
There has never been an airplane crash or major mechanical failure with any of our airplanes. The reason for this is pretty basic: we maintain our aircraft properly and we do not hire amateurs to fly them.
All of our Tandem Masters and Jump Masters have been professionally trained and adhere to the guidelines set forth and regulated by the Canadian Sport Parachute Association.
Conveniently located in the small mountain town of Golden BC, Extreme Yeti is the only skydiving destination fortunate enough to be at the doorstep of world famous Calgary, Banff and Lake Louise and also border 6 of Canada’s most scenic national parks: including Banff, Jasper, Glacier, Kootenay, Yoho, and Revelstoke.
